Mickey & Minnie Mouse

OPI on julkaisut jo kaksi Minni Hiirestä inspiroitunutta kynsilakkakokoelmaa. Olen kovasti saanut hillittyä itseni, vaikka olenkin HYVIN suuri Disney-fani ja rakastan punaisia lakkoja. (Vintage Minnie - 2012 swatchit ja Couture Minnie - 2013 swatchit.) Tilasin siis hetkelliseksi lohdukkeeksi Mikki ja Minni-decalseja. x)

OPI has released already two Minnie Mouse-inspired polish collections. I have succesfully avoided buying them, even though I'm HUGE Disney-fan and I love red polishes. (Vintage Minnie - 2012 swatches ja Couture Minnie - 2013 swatches.) But I ordered some cute decals with Mickie and Minnie Mouse when I saw these. 

Pohjalakkana ORLY:n Nail Armor, jota olen lahjakkaasti kohta kuluttanut pullollisen. Näin pitkään tuota käyttäneenä voisin sanoa, että ainakin kynteni ovat huomattavasti kovemmat ja kasvavat huomattavasti helposti pitkiksi. (Minun mittapuullani) Aiemmin en saanut kuin pikkurillin kynsiä kasvamaan ~1cm yli sormenpään, nyt onnistunut siinä lähes jatkuvasti ja saan pidettyä kynnet helposti siinä pituudessa.

Basecoat is ORLY:s Nail Armour, which I have used almost whole bottle. After using it this long, I could say that my nails are much harder and grow more easily longer. (In my standards.) Earlier I couldn't get them over 1cm, but now I can do it easily and actually keep them in that length. 


Päällilakkana (paitsi nimettömässä) oli China Glazen 2012 Holiday Joy-kokoelmasta Red Satin. Kyseessä siis tomaatin?punainen creme/jelly sekoitus. Levittyvyys on taas aivan upea, peittävyyteen riittää kaksi kerrosta. Kyseessä siis uskomattoman kiiltävä "peruspunainen". Väri ei olisi tarvinnut edes päällilakkaa, mutta pitihän sitä laittaa noiden decalien takia.

Top coat (except for ring-finger) is China Glazes 2012 Holiday Joy-collections Red Satin. It is tomato(?) red creme/jelly combination. Spreading is great, full coverage is two layers. It is incredibly high-shine "basic red." I didn't necessary need a top-coat, but decals do, so...

Nimettömässä Jolly Jewelsin 110 Mavalan White:n päällä. Mavalasta en pidä, mutta yritän saada sen käytettyä ennen kuin hankin itselleni paremman valkean... ja toisaalta kyllä se kelpaa kerrostamiseen. Varsinkin kun Jolly Jewelsin valkea pohja häivytti Mavalan raidat... toisaalta tuo JJ näyttää huomattavasti paremmalta valkean päältä, kuin yksinään. (Vertaa vasen ja oikea........)

Ring finger was done with Jolly Jewels 110 over Mavala's White. I really don't like Mavala, but I'm trying to finish the bottle before I buy myself a better white... and it is ok-polish for layering like this.. Especially since JJ's white base covered the stripes Mavala had... and on the other hand JJ looks much better over white base, than on it's own. (Compare left and right....)

Nimettömässä on ihan liikaa glitteriä. : / en tykkää.
Ringfinger has WAY too much glitter.... : / I don't like. 

Viimeiseen kuvaan pääsi mukaan karvasydän. <3 Ja oli muuten ihana ottaa kuvia luonnonvalossa, valkeaa paperia vasten. Ei tarvinnut käsitellä kuvia lainkaan, jotta sai haluamansa lopputuloksen.

Furry heart-pillow made it to the last picture. <3 And I have to say... it was great to take pictures in the natural light, against white paper. I didn't have to do anything to this pictures to get the result I wanted. (Just the way it should be)

Onko teillä jotain noista OPI:n lakoista, mitä? Vai onko teilläkin ne vasta himotuksen asteella? :) Vai oletteko onnistuneesti hillinneet himoa jotenkin... mutta seuraavaan kertaan! :)

Alusvaatekynnet. (Underwear-nails)

Hei taas.... ikuisuuden jälkeen. (Olen oikeasti aika hidas pitämään blogia, pitäisi yrittää parantaa tapojani) Kevät yrittää edetä pikkuhiljaa, vaikka ulkona ei siltä näytäkään.... eilen paistoi aurinko, mutta tänään on ollut koko päivän kaamea räntäsade etc.

Hi again....after a LONG time. (I'm really bad/slow at keeping blog, I should try to do something about it.) It's starting to look/feel more like spring... even though today it really doesn't seem like that... yesterday the sun was shining, but today... meh. 

Posti toi taas lisää tavaraa alkuviikosta, yksi niistä tänään kynsillä. :) (Kyllä, laitan tänne kuvan tämänhetkisistä tekeleistäni!) Pari muuta tulokasta päässee esiteltäväksi pikkuhiljaa. JA koska yritän nyt pitää itseni ostolakossa, saan ehkä otettua vihdoin kuvaa myös lakoistani.... pikku kokoelmastani toisin sanoen.

I got another package on the mail, I'm wearing one of them right now. :) (Yes... I'm going to put a pic of my newest nails here!) Two other bottles will be  shown later.... AND since I'm trying not to buy any polishes for a while... I might get the chance to actually photograph them.. my little "collection" so to speak.

Mutta.. kynsiin... pohjalakkana toimi vanha kunnon ORLY:n Nail Armour. Vaihtelen nykyisin sen ja W7:n välillä... en kehtaa kuitenkaan kovettajaa käyttää jokaisen lakkauksen alla, koska ne tunnetusti saattavat aiheuttaa lohkeilua/liuskoittumista)

Päällilakkana China Glazen Cranberry Splash. Tämä lakka ilmestyi Chinan joulukokoelmassa 2012, mutta törmäsin tähän "vahingossa", kun olin samasta eBay-kaupasta tilaamassa erästä toista lakkaa. Ensin mietin, että tarvitsenko toista tämänkaltaista lakkaa (minulla oli ennestään Mad about hue), mutta tilasin sen silti.... enkä kadu. Väri on uskomattoman täydellinen pornonpunainen, levittyvyys on parasta Chinaa... JA tämä on one-coater! Joo-o. Löytyi siis uusi lempilakka.

Aluksi en osannut päättää mitä näihin väsäisin päälle... olin kuitenkin laiskotellut pari viimeisintä lakkausta, joten halusin tehdä jotain vähän nätimpää. Mieleeni muistui pari vuotta sitten blogeissa näkemäni pitsi-mani, jota en ollut kokeillut aiemmin... pengottuani siis jonkin aikaa kangasvarastoani löysin ison palan mustaa pitsiä ja lopputulos näkyy alla. :) (Jos joku kiinnostui, niin Passion for nailsilla ja Charming nailsilla löytyvät erinomaiset tutoriaalit näiden tekoon.

But.. on to the nails... the basecoat is old and faithful ORLY's Nail Armour. These days I'm switching between it and W7's stronger and longer. I don't want to use hardener under every mani, mostly because it can cause chipping. 

The color is China Glaze's Cranberry Splash. This polish first came out in CG's Christmas-collection, but I accidently bumped into this when I was buying another polish from an eBay-seller. First I thought do I really need another polish like this..... (I already have Mad about Hue), but I ordered it anyway... and no regrets! The color is incredible, porn-y, sexy... just about every positive -y you can think of. It spreads like the best CG colors just can AND the best of all... this is an one coater! I think this just became my personal favorite. 

First I wasn't sure how I should decorate this... the last two manicures had just been regular mono-colors, so I wanted to do something prettier. I thought of this lace-manicure I had seen few years back in blogs, and I hadn't tried it before. SO after searching through my fabrics, I found big piece of black lace and you can see the result here. :) (If you want to know how I made these, Passion for nails ja Charming nails have really good tutorials. 

Ensin molemmat kädet... suihkun jäljiltä ryppyiset ja punaiset. EI kiva. : / Mutta tässä näkyy tuo upea punainen väri. Namnam.

Starting with both hands... red and wrinkly from the shower, NOT nice. : / But here you can see the amazing color. I just LOVE it. :) 

EN vaan saa tarpeeksi tuosta väristä... se on uskomaton. x) Ja mitä kirjoituksen nimeen tulee... jos siis satuit sen huomaamaan.. :) Niin tajusin omistavani juuri samoilla väreillä olevan korseletin. Punainen pohja ja mustaa pitsiä.... toimii. ;)

I just can't get enough of that color... it is amazing! x) And as for the title... if you happened to notice it :) I realized I own a corsage with exact same colors! Red base with black lace... good combination. ;)

...kirjoitan tätä pidettyäni noita pari päivää, niin pitsin kärjet alkavat jo repsottaa ja nämä tarttuvat vähän väliä hiuksiin. Eli vaikka ovatkin kivan näköiset, taitaa tämä koristelutapa jäädä lähinnä juhliin. (Keksin ainakin yhden, johon tämä sopisi, eri väreillä kylläkin.... mutta ei siitä sen enempää. ;)

I'm writing this after two day's wear... and the tips of the lace are starting to look ragged and these get caught in my hair all the time. Even though these look nice, I think this decorating-style is for parties-only. (I can think of at least one party where these would look great, with different color-combo... but no more about that. ;) 

Pikapostaus 31 päivän haasteesta, Day 1 - Red Nails

Kuten jo vähän lupailinkin edellisessä postauksessa, tällä kertaa tuohon haasteeseen tehdyt kynnet. 

Like I promised in the last posting, here's the nails I did for the challange. 

Ensin ajattelin tekeväni jotkin perinteiset, punaiset kynnet, jossa olisi ehkä leimattuna ruusua tai jotain vastaavaa.... mutta totesin, että miksi en yhdistäisi saman tien kaksi kärpästä yhdellä iskulla.

Päädyin siis tekemään glitter-sandwitchin, joka oli ainakin jokin aika sitten suuressa huudossa ja muodissa kynsiblogeissa... ja samalla pääsin käyttämään noita testaamattomia lakkoja, joita on kertynyt valitettavan suuri määrä.

First I thought I should make something really usual type of manicure, deep red with rose stampings or something like that.... but then I thought why shouldn't I try two things at once. 

So.... I ended up making a glitter-sandwich which is... or was a great hit in nail-blogs some time ago... and at the same time I got the chance to try some of the unused polishes I have quite a lot...

Pohjalakkana on siis vaihteeksi Orlyn Nail Armor (joka siis on käytössä ollut melkein harrastuksen alusta lähtien..)

Kerrostamiseen käytin China Glazen Ravishing, Dahlin' ja Color Clubin Backstage Pass... oliskohan ollut neljä-viisi kerrosta yhteensä lakkaa, jonka jälkeen Seche Viten pikakuivattava.

Itse olen yllättävän tyytyväinen tulokseen... jotenkin tuli mieleen veriplasma tai joku vastaava yläasteen oppikirjoista.

(Ja pahoittelen likaisista kynsinauhoista, kuva otettu heti lakkauksen jälkeen.)

Basecoat is Orly's Nail Armour, which I've used from the beginning of my nail-art hobby. The layering was done with China Glaze's Ravishing, Dahlin' and Color Club's Backstage Pass... I think I used about 4-5 layers and topped it with Seche Vite's rapid dry-top coat. 

I'm surprisingly pleased with the outcome... somehow it reminds me of blood...or something like that... (and I'm terribly sorry for dirty cuticles, I took this photo right after I was done with my nails.)
